Two fragmentary Latin inscriptions
Roman
Marble
UR6001 and unnumbered
An old gallery label says: “Inscription (Roman) from Catacomb of S. Ponziana, Rome.” If this label was once associated with one of these pieces, it could be equivalent to the “marble from oldest catacomb” mentioned as a “gift of J.B. Jeter” in a Richmond College Museum inventory list of Jan. 1, 1877.
