Roman Collection
The collection of Roman artifacts assembled in the Ancient World Gallery is illustrative of the kinds of objects commonly found at archaeological sites in the Mediterranean and Near East. It includes several fragments of marble reliefs and inscriptions, terracotta ceramis and a few iron nails. A series of terracotta oil lamps dating from about the 1st century BCE into the Late Roman period (4th century CE) demonstrate stylistic changes during the Roman empire.
